Elden Ring is a journey filled with mystery and discovery. From the very beginning you feel lost in a world that does not care about you or hold your hand. Every victory feels earned through failure learning and patience. What I loved most is the sense of freedom. You can go almost anywhere and spot something interesting on the horizon then actually make your way there. The world is incredible with so much detail and atmosphere. Every area has its own identity which makes exploring enjoyable even after dozens of hours. The bosses are some of the best FromSoftware has ever created. Some test your skills while others stay in your memory because of their design and presence. The combat is deep and varied and gives you the freedom to build your character however you want. But Elden Ring's greatest achievement is how it takes the challenging philosophy of Souls games and puts it into a massive world full of secrets without losing its identity. It is a game that rewards curiosity and patience more than anything else. For me it is not only one of the best games of this generation but also one of the best video games I have ever played.
